A letter from our founder
I studied in Cambridge, and the city has stayed with me ever since. Years later, on a solitary walk through Grantchester Meadows, a scent reached me on the air: fresh, green and quietly familiar.
In a single breath I was back in my student years, and in the life I had loved here. I wanted to hold on to it: not only the fragrance, but everything it made me feel.
Scents carry memories. What if a little of Cambridge could be kept in a fragrance? A river walk, a garden after rain, the quiet of a library: each is a way to remember the city through more than a photograph.
That thought became Cambridge Stories. Each scent comes with a story about the city’s traditions, landscapes, people and discoveries, so you can revisit a treasured chapter, cherish a recent visit, or find a new connection to the place. My wish is simple: to help you keep something of Cambridge close, wherever life takes you.
